baklava and toilet paper

This morning I searched for dresses to wear to my 2nd cousins wedding. Of course my mum hated the dress I loved. She said it looked like a nightie, while it makes me feel like a sleepwalking contemporary dancer.

Then later I attended a kitchen tea. I was quite surprised when i saw it was in fact not in a kitchen. But there was food, so I was happy. for those of you who don't know a kitchen tea is where people give a bride to be   presents for the kitchen and then drink some tea, I guess.

Anyway, I sat with my aunties (who i am now going to call the elders, which is what my mum called them) and we talked about everything from crushed fingers to holidays in Perth. Then I got asked if I wanted to be a bride in a game we were about to play. I agreed and soon found myself wrapped in a toilet paper wedding dress that was instantly posted on facebook for everybody to see. The rest of the afternoon involved me eating way too much dessert, which started with rum balls and ended with baklava and resulted in me wanting to lie on the floor and vomit. I also saw some people get a bit tipsy, saw the future bride receive the exact same plate as a gift six times and got a major face squish by someone's Nonna all the way from the home country (Italia)

Here was my (very kitchen teaish) outfit:
Apologies for the blurryness and slightly crazy facial expressions.

Army boots, Sportsgirl cardigan, retro star vintage (!) dress and toilet paper headband.

Here is my purple jeans!!!!!! I was forced to take this on the mac, as my brother was too preoccupied (grrrr)

This is not an excuse to look at my butt. It is purely there for the purpose of seeing my jeans.
Goodbye, anyone who is out there. Oh yeah, I have given up the C.A.R.L.A, for the simple reason that I can't think of any more acronyms. Bloggers block.

Bye. (@R1A! (carla)

Ps. have a look at my previous post please. No one commented and I felt a tad depressed.

Dinner in the dark

I am proud to say that the V8 cake is now fInished and digested. My family ate our ten hours of work in one night. I will post some photos soon.

Also I haven't posted anything lately because All our power mysteriously went out. So no wifi for me:( So the tv wasn't working!! Doesn't anyone understand we have to watch the finals week of masterchef???:) anyway we ate dinner in the dark, but the power is on now.

Also my darling mother bought me some awesome purple skinny jeans that I will show you soon. And I am really happy. You know why??? Well when you get to watch bend it like beckham for double English and then get to play on Photoshop for double art you know life is good. I just am not looking forward to cheersports.I know everyone else thinks it's fun, but I for one an not going to enjoy entrusting my wellbeing with te group of immature boys lifting me up.
here are some random photos i took with the mac, as my (not so) darling brother refused to take pictures of me:

I'm Melting!!!

The cake of doom

Today me and two of my friends attempted to make the dreaded V8 cake from masterchef Australia, created by pastry genius Adriano Zumbo. You probably wouldn't have seen it because you don't live in Australia. But let's just say that the ingredients list alone takes up nearly three pages. The cake has eight different layers and the contestants had two and a half hours to make it.
ours doesn't look exactly like this:)
We on the other hand took around six hours. But eventually several spillages, lots of panic attacks and one electric shock later, the cake was (almost) ready. We still haven't finished it. I was the official taste tester, which I am considering as a future career.

Adios C.A.R.L.A (Cooking Awesomeness, Really Likes Adriano (zumbo)

The end of the freedom

Sadly the holidays have ended and tomorrow all my creativity and freedom is put in storage until next holidays. Ugh school! It's depressing going back to learning about endoplasmic reticulum and irregular German verbs. So anyway just a short post telling you (if anyones out there, that is) that I finally got nerd glasses:

now i am officially a nerd. Yipee!
And that I spent my precious last day eating my mum's pink ganache (without her knowing) and watching funny face. I love Audrey Hepburn

Also I saw the last Harry Potter twice in three days. I absolutely love it. My friend now wants to marry Neville. JK Rowling is a genius (sigh.)

I'm queen of the castle

I haven't written anything because I was isolated from my beloved wify while on a holiday with my family. We stayed in this old church, which was slightly creepy. And my brother had a bad experience with a "haunted cupboard" (that freaked me out a bit.)Here are some photos from my little adventure in castlemaine:

The trip gave a chance to get in touch with our nature side. So we participated in the old fashioned kid activities like flying a kite. by the way, I am the kite master, i found out.
others tried.....
but they failed.

Then to make up for the isolation from civilization we went on a marathon shopping trip (which should be am Olympic sport.) Our original goal was to go into all those fancy shops with like three bodyguards around one bag. But sadly some of us chickened out, so we only managed to go into Miu Miu and Cue. We'll manage Chanel and Prada next time. We did manage to buy some other stuff. Shopping can often make you crazy, especially when it goes for five hours. So you'll underatand when I say leopard print suspenders and red tights were purchased.I got some army boots finally!!! here was one of my buys, or my mum's buy I should say.

Dangerfield (!) hat. That apparently looks wicked on me.

I'm such a retro star

Hey,Yesterday I went to the awesomest place ever..................RETRO STAR. it was amazing. It is the biggest vintage clothing store in Australia. They have everything you could ever want, Here is one of the most otrageous things I found (I was later told it was everyday street wear once):

I bought this awesome dress and an emily badge, that I will show you later. But here is what I wore yesterday and the day before.
Tuesday's outfit, apparently I look very indie. Also, these are just my temporary (3D)nerd glasses.

Wednesday's outfit. excuse the smile.
the top is my dad's, the boots are handme downs and the tights are leona edminston.
I really want a vespa, so badly!!!!!!!!!
After Retro Star, we went to the aquarium.

Who like's my tatto?
On Tuesday me and mum went out to chose my new glasses. I got these bright red ones and an awesome pair of nerd ones (from the mens section!) I can't wait to wear them.

Also, my mum found all this stuff she used to wear when she was younger. There is this awesome dress and lots of (vintage) high heels that actually fit me (I guess small feet run in the family.)

Love, C.A.R.L.A (Completely A Retro star, Loves Antiquish stuff) Apologies for the acronyms.

Windy Day

Today I actually wore something other than bright blue trackies. I got this great new skirt from the op shop. And even though I find it a bit weird wearing a lady with a mustache and a mono brow, it still seems really special. We went to my nonna's house for lunch,a maths lesson and a reminiscing-about- skin- tight- leopard- pants session (yeah, my family is so normal, but I love them anyway.) We also went for a windy, rainy walk on the beach. And I got some great photos. Anyways, here is my outfit                             and the beach photos.

Ciao, C.A.R.L.A (Carla Awesomeness,Relatives Lovely Also)

A Russian boy with puffy pants

Today I woke up at 9:00 (ah, glorious holidays!) Then after doing some morning tai chi (when I say tai chi, I mean just random lunges and stuff) I went down stairs to find my darling mother making pancakes. So then after indulging two nutella pancakes, I basically rolled myself into the bathroom to do my make up,hair and put on my costume for about three hours. We ended up getting an honorable mention in the dance comp. Guess who came first??? A group of 12 year olds wearing short shorts and a bra. I am not kidding, nothing but that. And it was a padded, push up bra. What is happening to the world?? For all those guys who have seen dazzle dazzle, yes that is what it's really like.Anyway, here is my costume:

Also, me and my mum watched the three hour mini series on coco Chanel. She is amazing!!!! The movie was great, apart from the kissing parts(there I closed my eyes.)

Hello!!!!!! It's finally the holidays!!!!! Now the real fun begins.I can't wait to be free from those evil creativity destroyers (teachers) and wear something other than my school uniform. To start the holidays my best friend came for a sleepover. We played tigi in the dark, stargazed, dressed up,made mini pizzas and watched movies (yes one of those movies was princess diaries.Typical girls.) Since It's only the first day of the holidays, I haven't done much yet.I have a dance competition tomorrow, then you can see my costume, it's Russian (now you're all excited.)Anyways here is what I dressed up as last night:

Look out here comes Spidergirl
As you know my brother doesn't like to have photos taken. But he tried on this tiny shimmery Gold top and skirt and he looked so funny!!! I tried on the top too, it was so tight it could have amputated my arms.

And here are the famous squeaky shoes, squeaky but stylish.

Yay! Gucci.
Bye C.A.R.L.A (Calinga Awesomeness and Really Lovely superheroAction-skills) Terrible, terrible I say!!! Btw, calinga is the name of my Russian dance.;)
